I really wish SB would let you scroll back through your groups of four to see your results and click on the teams.  We could all keep a record of ratings, chemistry and whether or not they bronze benched.

I started keeping track last week, but haven't done a good job of keeping complete records.  The one thing I noted after approx. 10 games, at least for the way my squad is setup and the way I play, is that I dominate the "balanced, balanced" teams and struggle if the AI squad has clearly altered the custom tactics, especially those with a "dribbling" attack style.  My theory, based on purely anecdotal evidence, is that custom tactics affect both your squad AND the opponent's.  The key is to find the appropriate "counter", and I simply don't have enough observations to come to any real conclusions about which tactics counter others.

Where it says 'SB uses your opponent's chemistry...'  Doesn't that mean that if your opponent has 50 chemistry then your team plays on 50 chemistry?  Otherwise, why would they need to write anything?  They wouldn't write 'SB uses your opponent's players...'.  We all know what chemistry is and would always assume that chemistry is being used so I can only think the reason those shit chemistry games are harder sometimes is that you're using their chemistry.

No, I think it's just poorly written.  Those low-rated off-chem teams are far and away the easiest games, at least that's been my experience.  I notice no impairment of my squad.  For me, the hardest games are always the highest rated teams, regardless of chemistry.  Really makes me question the importance of chemistry.  As for the bs, I think that's just part of playing on the higher difficulty levels.  You have to accept it.  I mean, we are playing the AI, so seems logical that to make it harder, the other team gets boosted and/or calls are going to go their way.  Definitely frustrating though to watch your ST get blasted from behind in the box with no call and stupid Allan Smith complementing the "quality tackle"...

Haven't used the prime, but I've been using the 88 for some time now as a ST paired with Lewandowski.  His pace and finishing are top notch, both in SB and WL.  He can also create - quite a nifty dribbler.  I think his strength is underrated too, but I'm also using a Hawk chemstyle.  I think the 88 is a very underrated card, and the 90 looks marginally better.  Personally, I'd just buy the 88 rather than sink a lot of coins in an untradeable card, but even having the ability to sell him and buy someone else, that hasn't entered my thinking because his production has been so good.  Instead, I've decided to keep grinding so I can pair him with Ronaldo rather than Ronaldo with Lewandowski.

Anybody noticed Acc > SS this year?  I found it the other way around last year.

Yes, especially when combined with high agility and balance like the Younes card.  If you haven't already, give the IF Bigalke a go.  That card is A LOT of fun.

How is Overmars? I'm running a Calcio A and using Perisic at LW but wondering if he would be worth the upgrade at 700k, or if I should use those coins for a midfielder but there's no one I like for that price to replace Pjanic, and he has been performing for me, great passer.

I'll second the Overmars recommendation, but I've been using the 88 instead of the 90.  Cards are almost identical, so didn't seem worth the extra $$ to get the 90 (or get the untradeable version in SBC).

How are you finding 85 Blanc?  Was also considering him, but when I compare his card stats to Goretzka's, just doesn't seem to be worth it.

Goretzka from Bundesliga has been my CDM since day 1.  Great all-around card.

I prefer to play a slow buildup, possession style, and the 41212 narrow fits this style because your players tend to stay close together.  You can play this way with a 4321, and this was my preferred method in 17 and pre-patch 18, but it has become more difficult with the patches that made passing more difficult and AI defenders better.  There's just too much space between your midfield and attackers, even with possession-style custom tactics.

Definitely seems like this was part of making shooting harder/goalies better in the first patch.  Before the first patch, low drivens were easy and went in what seemed like 100% of the time.  After the patch, suddenly the same low driven would randomly launch over the bar.  Very frustrating, and interestingly, I don't seem to notice the same playing online.

Depends.  In SB, I prefer 4321.  Online, seems you have to go 41212 narrow or get ripped apart.  The 41212 narrow definitely took some getting used to - seems like your players are on top of each other - but just works so much better online, probably because defense is harder and having all of your players crammed together helps defend.

The hardest games they have Jesus,Son Willian bakayoko kante etc but the team rating is 78.

The easiest time to score is when you're winning and the cpu opens up late on I often go from 1 nil to 3 one in the last 5 mins

True, but those teams also usually have 100 chem and players that seem to OP for the Frostbite engine.  On higher difficulties, of course the AI is going to play out of their minds.

For me it's all about scoring yourself.  If you get an early goal your players play better and you often go on to win comfortably.  Struggle to create or their keeper is on fire etc. and the CPU punishes you with unstoppable goals.

     ^This.
Re: bronze benching, I think what we're really experiencing is that chem doesn't matter as much as the quality of the players in the squad.  9 times out of 10 these poor rating/poor squad teams have some beast attacker (at least it seems this way to me).  These attackers, even though they're not on 10 chem, are still very dangerous, especially playing the higher difficulty levels.  If you can score first and shut down the AI's ensuing attack, the AI defense does seem to open up for additional goals.  The AI seems to "panic" in attack when behind too, launching more long OTTTB's that are easily defensed.

If you can afford him, SIF Kimmich would be an improvement over Piszczek (frankly, so would his IF).  Would definitely help out the passing for this squad.

I'll vote Martial/Dembele squad, because I absolutely did NOT like either Reus or Werner.  I think it's the M workrates for both - neither seemed interested in doing a thing in attack for me.  I do like Robben, he's great in Squad Battles, but I think he lacks a bit of pace for WL. Have not tried Martial, but Dembele has been absolute quality for me as a super-sub since I packed him early on.

I'd consider going all Bundes defense though.  Was very underwhelmed by Semedo, his pace notwithstanding.  Made a squad with Semedo at RB to get Dembele in starting XI on full chem, but have found him far inferior to SIF Kimmich.

Some Bundes players look awesome but the league is let down massively by not having any top notch RB's.  I also love to have 4* 4* on my forwards and they don't have any good ST with those.  If you are happy with 3* forwards then I think the Bundes is a good option, a lot of good mids.

Gotta disagree about lack of top-notch RB.  IF Kimmich is great, especially if you cross into the box.
