posted a message on Help with high pressure blockers

So I've finally hit Div 2 - woo woo - and I'm coming up against loads of high pressure players who are blocking the majority of my passes and even clearances. They charge me and even if I try to clear, they get the block in. Any advice on how to get around them?

Every game can be "better" someway or somehow but think bigger, EA are a business, they release this game every year and will continue to because it sells, no matter what state its in it sells,
Thats my point here your just wasting your breath by thinking what we say matters to them, im an Arsenal fan yet i dont like the protests, i understand them but like EA its all about money and if the same thing continues to produce money then why change, in their mind they think ahh who care, it sells, even with issues it sells so they aint gona try to hard to fix it
Well that's a very defeatist attitude, haha. No, I get what you're saying but I disagree on two counts. One, I don't think it's a waste of breath because I think people enjoy venting, especially if they've had a particularly grating match, it helps alleviate their frustrations. Two, I think accepting the status quo is dangerous and will ultimately lead to unhappiness. In terms of Arsenal fans, it frustrates me to see the lack of understanding their own autonomy. To suggest that's the way it is because it's a business is foolhardy. Arsenal fans have the power, not the board. If 50% of Arsenal fans refused to turn up for one game, just one, because of say, ticket prices, the board would reduce them the next day. The shockwaves that would send; a half empty stadium live on tv at a club that supposedly will always turn up and support no matter what, the board would be incredibly worried. Just look further afield at Anfield. The Liverpool fans did a major protest and immediately the board cancelled the price increase. Fans have the power because they are the majority.
England is a frustrating place right now and a lot of people of suffering, financially and otherwise and the government doesn't give two shits and people accept it because they think they have no choice. This is exactly the kind of dead, apathetic thinking the elite/government/football board/major corporations (such as EA) want because it means they can act without fear of reaction. They essentially have a blank cheque to do whatever they want. This is how slave owners thought. But the elite are the minority, they depend upon us. Without us, they are nothing. We need to recognise that.
    Sorry to get political.

There is, of course, a simple solution to this problem. Don't read the posts you don't want to read.

Everyone is free to post what they want (as long as it's not directly threatening or abusive), just as you are free to moan about people moaning. But posting titles that demand people follow your way or leave is self-righteous at best. Let people express themselves and if you don't like those threads then don't read them.

I dislike almost everything that's on MTV, so you know, I don't watch MTV.

Which is the exact same with FIFA by that logic, if you dont like alot about the game, dont play it
But people do like the game. They just want it to be better and it can be. There are many on here and on other sites who have posted insightful ideas about what EA could do to improve the gameplay, because as someone else said today, all other aspects of the game are brilliant, it is only the gameplay side that has flaws. Sure people get angry and they come here to let off steam (which is fine) but they do offer up good critiques of what, as you rightly said, is not a perfect game, and yes the game will never be so to everybody but it can be better. As consumers, and let's be clear, some people pump thousands of pounds into this game, people have a right to voice concerns about certain aspects of the game. Particularly when the game could be accused, at times, of taking money by false pretences. Case in point, the chem-gate incident, when people invested real money into buying IF cards that they believed were better than their standard cards but because of an 'anomaly/glitch/bug' were found to be hampered by low chemistry - a fault to which EA admitted.
Long point short, it is a good game and people recognise that. They also recognise that it could be a better game.

By that logic why do people post multiple posts about the issues in the game and their complaints? yes mine was similar but had more of a description to it.

Anyway its like trying to get blood from a stone, if you want to keep playing, getting mad, posting here then rinse and repeating then go for it, i for one bulit a team full of players i enjoy and play the game, i may have a bad record but i actually enjoy the game.

Which is great. It's a good thing you enjoy it and so you should. Keep on enjoying the game and improving but let people who want to rant, rant. Their anger towards the game should not dispel the joy you feel towards it; they are two separate things.

Didn't you just start a thread about wanting people to stop moaning when somebody else posted that exact thread earlier, ie, this one?

posted a message on Duplicate player question

So I'm trying to do the Harry Kane SBC and I have Jagielka as an untradeable that I don't want to get rid of because he has contracts and chemistry card and I just like that he's played so many games for my club (he feels like my player). So, is there any way I can sign a duplicate and put it straight into the SBC section?

posted a message on More lag in Seasons since the latest update?

It's fucking shite and you can't play with it. Lag completely kills your passing, movement and shooting and it has a terrible effect on the AI. It is the single most destructive element in FUT and yes, I've had a whole heap since the update. It makes the game worthless TBH.

I have 100Mb connection which isn't the best but I have no problems with any other game. I have to play this shit with a long ass wire coming out of my PS4.

posted a message on I'm beginning to thinkI have little bearing on the outcome of my matches

I had a brilliant one today, one of those games. I went 1 up and then made, what I knew was a reckless tackle but little more than a foul, perhaps a yellow, although I'd seen plenty earlier that hadn't seen yellows. Straight red. From that moment, I knew where the game was headed. I still dominated my opponent, hit the post twice from inside the box, open goals, was making tackles that we're getting fed straight back to opponent's feet and then, for his equaliser it was wonderful. I lose the ball in the middle and my defenders (set on stay back) were up near his box leaving me with only two centre-halves against his four on rushing attackers. There was not a moment before or after that my defence willfully disregarded my instructions, only for his goal.

I've learnt to recognise these games and I just batten down the hatches and play simple football, anything other than a loss I count as a bonus. I drew so was happy.

It's just funny that so many people have the exact, exact same experiences. It's like a disease, like when you first get a cold and you feel that scratching lurgy in the back of your throat. You can read the symptoms of EA bullshit just the same.

i do feel the burden that everyone seems to feel about the game play but sometimes I think its because you and your opponent are so even that the finest of errors cost the game, it can be errors made by you, the A.I or what seems to be tragic gameplay, but it happens to everyone and kts up to you to really taje advantage when it happens FOR you. I highly doubt it only happens one way, so just understand (and it sucks), that its all part of the game.

That is the biggest issue with this game. I think the thing is people (certainly me) want a level playing field. This game has the bones of being one of the greatest football games of a generation, sadly the gameplay lets it down. EA do so much work on the other aspects of the game but they never seem to tighten the gameplay. There are so many little frustrations/bugs/glitches/whatever else that, although small, can be the difference between winning and losing. One that's been annoying me recently is defenders inability to head the ball. They constantly seek to chest it. The ball is coming in head height and you time the jump but no, they go an extra five feet in the air to take it on the chest, in their own box. When have you ever seen a premier league player do this? It's seemingly impossible to stop. I had a game recently where my player, even though I was pressing clear, decides to bring the ball down and take two touches in his own box. Just hoof it you fucking clampit!
There seems to be something weird that kicks in around the boxes when either player is defending. As though it renders normal gameplay into some special defensive play. An example: the ball was coming down in the box and my defender was free and facing away from goal, so I press to clear in the direction he's facing - high up the pitch - but he auto turns and clears it for a corner. Not only did it override my instruction but the move was completely unnecessary.

    posted a message on Walkout!

Sorry, had to post. I don't invest in this game and so my the type of player I get is pretty low but like Sean Dyche, I make the best of it. So I was doing the Harry Kane SBC (slowly but surely) and I got my first walkout from one of the packs. David Silva, not the best but I'm happy.

everyone plays the exact same way i've started to notice. start game, pause. switches to 4-1-2-1-2. defends solely with Kante.

Why this? Why pause and switch Formation? Im guessing it has something to do about chemistry, explain it like im 5 someone pls?
My understanding of it is that if you start in say a 442 with the team on full chem, you can then switch to a narrow 4-1-2-1-2 with those pacey wingers playing as CM but still keeping their full chem. People effectively cheating the system to be able to play narrow without sacrificing pace.

posted a message on Changing players' positions

Just wondered what you people think of the value in position changes? I've currently got a couple of CDMs playing CM but I'm reluctant to change their positions. In the past, when I've had the same issue with CAMs playing CM and I've changed them, they seem to lose form, as if I've somehow killed their attacking side by changing position. On the other hand, when I changed my LMs to LWs to fit the system the improvement was markedly apparent.

    What do y'all think?

posted a message on I'm beginning to thinkI have little bearing on the outcome of my matches

It's all about cycles. I was on the worst losing run which was subsequently followed by the most amazing winning run and now I'm losing again, and when I say runs I mean runs - 12 games without a win, 12 games winning every match etc... For me, the difference comes in how the features of FIFA are implemented and which way they go. For example, GK's parrying directly to opposition strikers, if I'm on a winning run, I get loads of these and my opponent gets nothing. Whereas, when I'm losing it goes the other way. There are loads of these little details (too many to list) but they are all born out of things only the game can implement and not the player. Take my last game (a 5-4 thriller, that I inconceivably won), my opponent put in a tame cross along the deck, he miss-hit it and the ball travelled at a snail's pace. Yet, inexplicably, my goalkeeper decides rather than catch the molasses moving ball, he'd rather parry straight into the oppo striker. There was no reason whatsoever for him to do this. It was an action erroneously (or perhaps not) created by the cpu. Hence my original title about having little to do with the outcome. I do, however, believe that exceptional players can overcome this shite.

Have to agree. I don't really enjoy the gameplay if I'm honest. I love the concept of the game mode but like you I feel there is so much balancing going on with adaptive difficulty and all that shit, that you aren't really 'playing' as such are you?
the thing I struggle with is I have no idea how good I am at the game or how good your opponents are. Sure I can win Div 1 and finish gold 2 every week in the WL, but that doesn't actually mean anything does it? It just depends on so much, have you got the momentum with you? Are you or your opponent suffering from laggy unresponsive connections? Are you or your opponent been handicapped because you have high rated players or you have won loads of games on the bounce?
If you think about it, it's complete and utter bollocks. But yet I continue to play it lol. Makes absolutely no sense, suppose I need my football fix somehow...
Haha, yeah I bet 80% of the people that play this game feel that way. I, like you, have no understanding of how good I am at this game because I seem to constantly cycle through god awful and sheer brilliant. You would figure that once you learn how a game works, you'll be pretty consistent at pressing the buttons correctly and at the right times. So why is it in this game that in one run of games I'll finish every one on one that comes my way and then in the next, I can't finish with the same players from the same distance against the same AI controlled keeper?
