@justiceforbarb with regards to work rates, yes I've questioned the same. The specific RB I mentioned in the OP had high attacking workrate. However, three things should have trumped this:
Team instruction set to Ultra D
Specific player instruction set to "stay back..."
Team tactics set on low passing - he bombed away from every other player on the pitch.
He has dified three major instructions, never mind the logic behind doing this 3-2 with five minutes to go. I can only deduce that workrates trump any instructions. Thereby leading me to question the value or indeed purpose of having instructions at all. Surely it would be better not to have stay back as an option and simply choose RB/LB's that have low attack workrates? There aren't any in the game. They doesn't exist.
It empitomises what is wrong with the game - a convoluted system that does not have the intelligence or ability to implement its own instructions. This is all over the gameplay.
