posted a message on Is this the worst FIFA ever?

I was really enjoying the game but after the patch I am hating it. My players are so much slower now. I don' know what the hell they did. Guess instead of making the defenders more agile they have slowed down the attackers. I have no clue, really not in  a good mood. I feel all that effort i put in the game to learn what was OP is gone!

Good for you! Congrats! Doesn't workout the same way for everyone. i did all those plus marquee matchups and my highest rated players were , Dele Ali, Rashford and Mkhitaryan. Still good but altogether they are worth around 130k. I mean it takes time and effort to do those.

posted a message on squad battles whatt ran u finished? did u like it?

Ofcourse everyone has dealt with this bullshit in the past and I have played enough Fifa 18 especially offline (Squad Battles) to say that it is all still there. And I believe if it is in one mode it will be in all modes.

I find myself laughing a lot. The blatant cheating is absurd. I'll win 4-0 on WC and lose on Semi pro. Complete joke.

Squad battles reminded me of the universal EA FIFA truth: The game has 21 players, I have 1. The house always wins.

I finished in Elite 2 and found myself regretting buying the game. I gave it an earnest chance and came back on this forum to see if anyone else had noticed the arcade nature of the game. It's a joke. If it's not going to play like WC or Pro don't call it that. It's simple. Why call it that and then pretend it has anything to do with chemistry.

haha well I feel the AI cheating has gone up this week. I lost two leads to AI..all headers and rebound goals. I just tweeted this, they should add that in there...

I finished on Elite 2 also and yes mostly played on professional. Switched to Legendary for a few games especially when I saw a low rated team. Got my ass kicked! :-) What rewards did you get? Anything good?

posted a message on If you play football in real life does it help you in the game?

So I have been a fan of football all life but never played. Played little as kid which really does not count....so my question is you think it helps you in Fifa?
Ofcourse the game is far from real but I think in terms of reading the plays, opening up a defense and stuff..a person that plays in real life might be better at the video game. What do you guys think?

Ha those things will never change. Enjoy the new content and whatever but all that extra bullshit in the game is still there and always will be there.

Yup the defending worries me, you can leave the defenders in dust with a simple change in direction, it's crazy. I hated how overpowered defenders were in Fifa 17 but damn this is the total opposite. EA needs to balance this out.

Can't help with skill moves, I don't use them in PES, which is part of that game's elegance, in the sense that the engine is so well balanced that you can play without dribbling skills and still dominate opponents if you know what you are doing. IRL I never played with skills (when I used to play with friends) and IG I play similar to my own style without dribbling skills - it's more tactical ping pong with an incisive spirit, supported by counters.

However, I will say that this year I spent a couple of months going back and forth between FIFA and PES My Club. At first it was hard 'cause I kept having control confusion. But after a few weeks I kinda got the hang of switching back and forth and playing a different game on each one.

I'd say that the games are now so different, particularly since the BS L2 thing that's needed every 3 seconds in FIFA. So there's little point in trying to mirror the controllers anymore. I still play FIFA with the shot and cross buttons inverted to match PES, but that's about as far as it goes cause the running is different, the precision trigger, the physical L2, etc.

ahh ok, so guess after playing PES when you would come back to FIFA it probably took a few games to adjust?

    • Attacking very smooth attackers who are pacey feel like a real threat and most defenders can't keep up unlike on FIFA 17 where you always get caught.
    • passing massively improved, very few passes go wild which is much better than last year.
    • It seems easier to score I have scored a 40 yard volley, numerous long shots and cut backs, keepers feel like they have been nerfed badly most shots go in so i expect that to change quickly.
    • defending is awful,  they feel clunky and can't keep up with most attackers, currently any CB with less pace than 80 is a liability and this needs to be addressed especially with the dodgy keepers.
    • new game modes are decent especially Sqaud Battles which is like a offline weekend league, you get 8 games to win as many matches the better you play the more points you get and its ranked just like weekend league so start off bronze and work your way up gold tier onwards have very decent rewards.
    • interface is better and a lot smoother its very easier to bid for players and list players no more faffing with values as you can press one button to increase rapidly

Overall 8/10 attacking is much better but that's had major repercussions on the defending aspect and feels very unbalanced..

Yup! agree with everything. If they don't fix defending ohh boy there will be a lot of goals scored! It is bad! Fifa 17 defenders were way overpowered but this is just horrendous!

I find that best results come when the game is swinging your way. Setting to Ultra attacking makes your forwards linger at the top, the mids push up and may delay to come back, so if the game is not going your way you'll be more exposed and are more likely to concede. Ultra Attack also seems to raise your aggression, which makes your players move faster and rush to get the ball back. So overall it is pretty good if you are chasing the game and it is starting to swing your way. You'll just be on top faster and have a higher likelihood of getting your goal.

I may also go there if I'm having trouble getting out of my half around the 70th min. Sometimes it feels like my players are amateurs on a Sunday league and have decided that the game is no longer worth working for. They just kind of linger, avoid tackles, turn slowly, stop making runs. When that happens it can be really hard to do anything, so I try to go ultra attack to raise their aggression and make them move again. I also yell at the screen.

Thanks! I love the last sentence: "I also yell at the screen."
    Tell me about it!
I think every fifa player does this. The game can be so frustrating at times. And it's usually a collection of AI mistakes building up that sets me off.
A pass goes a different direction to what i aimed. Ok. Attacking player continues forward run despite my attempts to turn him around to collect said missed pass. Ok. Change player to defend inevitable opponent player who collects the pass only to have it change to a player who is not closest to the ball. Getting annoyed. Track run of attacking player to intercept pass only for him to auto lunge and get nowhere close to the ball. Furious. Goal then scored one v keeper after other defenders magically part like moses and the sea. Yelling at the tv and wife thinking I'm crazy. Rinse and repeat. Lolz
haha yeah I'm sure. I wonder if anyone has ever broken the monitor or tv instead of just yelling. I am sure someone has.

So I tried out PES and need some advice, basically don't want to mess up my Fifa Skills (whatever little amount I have). So for skill moves what are the common skill moves between the the two game that have the same controls?
